Lassiter and Associates is also a teaching facility that offers postgraduate fellowships, internships and practical opportunities for mental health professionals-in- training. Those who qualify for our placements must have a Master’s degree in their behavioral health specialty (clinical psychology, mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, substance abuse counselor, clinical social work, speech and occupational therapy), be recognized as such by that professional licensing board and/or actively registered in an accredited university program with at least two years clinical experience.

Dr. Lassiter has been a licensed independent practitioner of Clinical Psychology since 1979 in New York, and 2005 in Virginia, as a group practice as JFL Care II, Inc. t/a Lassiter and Associates Psychological Services. We are a multi-disciplined practice that consists of licensed mental health professionals, LMHPs (psychologists, professional counselors, and social workers). Additionally we currently employ child and family specialists, substance abuse counselors, speech therapists and a pediatric neuropsychologist (who structures every child battery as part of an integrated treatment plan).

As a former professor of the Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University, Garden City, New York, Dr. Lassiter and our LMHPs also provide clinical supervision and mentoring for mental health practitioners who are meeting licensure requirements.

Workshop and Seminar Participation

Dr. Lassiter is available to lecture at workshops and seminars that further develop skills for psychotherapy specialties such as hypnosis, energy psychology methods, cognitive-behavioral techniques, psychoanalytically oriented therapies and psychological testing.

Additionally, Dr. Lassiter supports employers developing or expanding their EAP programs. Whether a company is looking for advice on their current services or training for supervisors and Human Resources personnel to manage difficult issues in the workplace, Dr. Lassiter provides a wide-range expertise for resolving a variety of issues, including but not limited to, anger management, depression, occupational stress, drug/alcohol or other conditions/disorders that can impact the workplace and employees’ performance capacity.

Our commitment to staying aware of the trends impacting employees today is another reason that Dr. Lassiter and our clinical staff are available to present at churches, corporate planning and professional association meetings.
